The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has changed the total marks on the Life Orientation computer mark sheet in 2015 from 400 to 320. This excludes the Common Assessment Task (CAT) for LO mark. A separate computer mark sheet is available for the capturing of the CAT for LO. The total of this mark sheet is 80. The WCED has amended the LO record sheet to make it possible for schools to easily capture the marks which are needed for these two computer mark sheets. Please note that it is not necessary for teachers to recapture all their marks on the new record sheet. The teachers must first add the number of rows to match their class / grade. Teachers must then copy the learners’ names and raw marks only from version two and paste it into version three. The CAT and SBA totals will be automatically generated. If, during the district moderation, a uniform moderation adjustment is needed, simply type the marks adjustment required (e.g. -2 or +3 or 0 for no adjustment) in cells AJ11 & AL11. The programme will automatically do the adjustments for all learners. In the event that the district subject adviser only wishes to adjust the marks of a certain group of learners, this may be done manually for the individual learners. Only the Subject Advisors will do the adjustment to the final mark in the moderated CAT mark column and the moderated SBA mark column.
